Training Aids To Improve Your Tennis Game

Very bad scrape, please help!?

I was playing in a tennis tournament a couple days ago and took a very nasty spill while running to catch a shot. I did not plant my foot correctly and my entire body weight fell onto my right knee and right shin. My momentum caused me to roll over onto my left shoulder, which caused a minor scrape as well.

Luckily, I did not break any bones or tear any ligaments although I ended up with a very bad scrape on my knee and a large raspberry-like burn on my thigh, along with the minor burn on my shoulder and a small cut on my finger.

Immediately after my injury the cut on my knee began bleeding, and the other scrapes began burning. I applied Hydrogen Peroxide (which burned and bubbled), stopped the bleeding and applied a anti-bacterial type product before covering the cuts on my leg up with gauze and band-aids, and wrapping the entire injured area with stretchy medical tape to finish my match.

After I was done, I took all the band-aids off and re-cleaned everything. I was sweating a bit, and was expected to play two more matches so I did the same routine and continued.

When I got home, my cuts and scrapes were burning almost unbearably and standing up after sitting down for an extended period of time was almost impossible. I re-cleaned my scrape in the shower (which burned like no other) and let it air dry for the night.

It has been about 2 days since the injury and scabs have been starting to form, although the pain is still present. I have tried aspirins, ice packs, and even triple-anti-biotic ointment (which only caused a very painful burning sensation) and nothing has seemed to stop the pain.

Walking around is difficult, and standing after sitting or lying down is almost unbearable. I don’t think the cuts are infected, I cleaned it very thoroughly after the injury. But as of today they are warm to the touch, slightly pinkish and have been oozing pus since the injury.

I am asking for any remidies to speed up the healing process (I have another tournament this saturday, plus practice this week) of ways to relieve the pain. The most painful injuries are the cut on my knee (about an inch wide and an inch long) and scrape on my leg (about 5 inches long and 3 inches wide)

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
